Description:

NTS IS HIRING A DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST TO WORK ONSITE IN A GREAT DOWNTOWN RICHMOND LOCATION (parking is provided).

COVID vaccination required. Must be able to pass criminal background check, drug test, have a valid license and reliable transportation.

The successful candidate's skill set will include extensive experience and expertise in hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of computers and peripherals, managing complex break/fix issues. The position provides support for both computers and network related issues. Knowledge of how to configure the Windows operating system, troubleshoot network issues, and perform skilled hardware repairs is required.

Must have OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER INTERFACING SKILLS – The ability to communicate effectively with users and support their technology needs is essential. You will be supporting many VIP level users.

Very good knowledge of:

  • Windows 10 and other current operating systems
  • Windows networking technologies
  • PC/Server hardware
  • Understanding of MS Office Applications (Office 2013, 2016)
  • VERY STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF OFFICE 365

In addition:

  • Good knowledge of understanding routers, and switches.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 and higher desired
  • Experience with handheld mobile devices desired
  • Keep abreast of new developments in software and hardware

Prefer:

Associates Degree or higher or equivalent work experience.
Outstanding customer service skill

Preferred Certifications:

  • HDI
  • ITIL
  • A+ or Network+ or Security+
  • Any current certification from: Microsoft, Cisco, Brocade, Sophos, Mitel, Veeam, Xirus, etc.
