PLEASE NOTE:  A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF RECENT I.T. TECHNICAL HELP DESK (PHONE/REMOTE) SUPPORT IS A REQUIREMENT OF THIS POSITION.

NTS is hiring full-time Help Desk Support Technicians on the Peninsula in Hampton Roads, VA. The successful candidate will be able to pass drug tests and background checks. This position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Hours: typical days – 7:30/8 to 4:30/5.  Some days may be adjusted to cover special events and some possible emergency support.

Pay:  $19 – $20 hour depending on experience and certifications. 

Required Skills:  Tier 1 & 2 help desk experience, HDI/A+/HP OEM/ITIL certs, experience with Manage Engine Service Desk a plus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handling incoming helpdesk phone calls/emails, triage, handle what can be remotely – password resets, etc., go onsite when deskside support required. escalate to other departments when needed, identify/research/resolve technical probs, respond to email/chat/phone requests, PC deployment.
  • NTS is providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 end user IT helpdesk services. End users contact the helpdesk with pc hardware, software, operating system, and application issues. Attempt remote resolution or determine in person support necessary.
  • System administration such as drive mappings, printer mappings, email troubleshooting, web browser configuration.
  • Support for end user applications including answering how to questions, reloading apps, configuring apps, escalating issues to application vendors, and cataloging issues for trend analysis.
  • May require occasional visits to the deskside for user orientation, hardware diagnostics, and hardware repairs or replacements. Hardware includes end user devices such as pcs, laptops, and peripherals.
  • While printer hardware support is not a specific requirement, diagnosis of issues may include analysis of a printer.
