MEDICAL BEDSIDE HOME TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECH
NTS is hiring a Support Technician for a Medical Bedside Home Technology program.
Work hours: Saturday-Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. mandatory
Other hours may be flexible, such as: Wed-Sun / Sat-Wed
COVID VACCINATION AND ANNUAL FLU SHOTS ARE MANDATORY.
Summary of Role
The Support Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot & upgrade computer hardware, software, mobile devices, printers, and other peripheral equipment for home installs. Must be able to complete all required documentation and provide user assistance in person and remotely.
Primarily functions in patient care settings including the operating rooms or patient’s home setting, which requires engagement with both clinical staff and patients. Must also effectively manage in-person communication and relationships between patients, their families and clinical staff for equipment setup, system configuration and troubleshooting.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant IT field and 3 years of functional leadership experience with total accountability.
· Healthcare experience preferred.
· CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA Network+ certification preferred.
· Current Virginia Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and insurance.
· COVID vaccination and flu shot (received annually)
OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY REQUIRED:
· Experience and capability for problem solving decision-making.
· General computer installation
· Maintenance and repair experience.
· Adaptable, open to change and able to respond to new information or unexpected circumstances.
· Advanced interpersonal, written & oral communication skills & solid leadership skills.
OTHER:
· Performs On Call responsibilities, onsite and remote, in response to system issues and requirements 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
· Required to respond and perform in clinical environments where patients are being treated. This includes patient homes (Home Hospital Program).
· Performs other duties and/or participates in special projects, accepts alternate assignments as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· May be exposed to hazardous substances or body fluids.
· May be required to wear a hazmat suit.
· May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
· Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
· Must exercise universal precautions – use personal protection equipment (PPE) and devices and learn the policies concerning infection control.
· Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. There will be periods of stooping / kneeling / squatting / sitting / walking / standing / repetitive use of arm/hand movements / use of Latex gloves / possible exposure to animal dander.
