Description:
NTS is hiring Systems Administrators in the Richmond, VA area supporting multiple customers out of our state-of-the- art NOC. The NOC administrators monitor complex environments using cutting edge tools in an effort to support remote environments via phone, remote desktop, and at times hands-on troubleshooting. The team is split up into groups offering 24/7 coverage.
The successful candidate will be able to pass drug tests and background checks. This position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Job Responsibilities:
Establishes network users, user environments, directories and security for networks being installed.
Installs, upgrades and configures Level Platforms Monitoring and Management Software for the Managed Services Practice in accordance with requirements of Statement of Work.
Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network in addition to server, network, or workstation problems as they occur using standard troubleshooting methods to isolate and diagnose the issue.
Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation. Refers major hardware problems to service technicians for correction, escalating items to management as needed.
Consistently demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to increase overall professional development and contributes to the overall company goal of obtaining and maintaining manufacturer certifications
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of network monitoring and configuration tools such as Managed Workplace, Solarwinds, HP SIM, Brocade BNA, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with routing and switching, basic firewall concepts, IPSec, SSH, SSL, access control lists and SNMP.
- Experience in supporting End Users and triaging call escalations.
- Knowledge of network protocols, 7-layer OSI model, network hardware, and cabling systems. Must be able to work with minimum direction and work effectively in a team environment. Must be customer focused and possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of personnel at various levels within and outside the institution.
- Good organizational and time management skills are required. Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills are also a necessity.
- In-depth knowledge of the IP protocol.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and configuration tools such as Cisco Prime.
- Knowledge and experience with routing and switching, basic firewall concepts, IPSec, SSH, SSL, access control lists and SNMP.
Good communication skills. Will be interfacing in a team and with end-users.
Additional Information
Duration of Contract: FTE
Salary: $18-$21/hour with benefits starting on Day 91 of employment.
